It's back...

Once again Mr. Epstein Barr is taking it's toll on me. I have to admit I can't stand this stuff! This is something I am going to have to learn to live with. I also need to learn to do things in moderation. My personality is one to go go go. I love life! This darn Epstein Barr stops me right in my tracks. Hopefully in the next day or two, it will be a lot better. This afternoon does seem to be about 25% better...that's progress! :)

Jacob's beautiful day...

Jacob

Sarah

I can't believe I haven't blogged since Wednesday! It has been a really good week, and oh so busy.

I am trying to think of the words to use for the experience we had yesterday. Beautiful, unbelievable, peaceful, proud, etc. This is a day that I know I will never ever forget. Jacob was asked by a wonderful lady, in our ward to participate in a photo shoot. Helen Robson Has Bounce Productions. She is an amazing photographer.http://focusonthechildren.blogspot.com/ Helen is composing a book that is going to be amazing! Here are a few pictures that we took with our camera. I can't wait to see the ones that she took!

Earth Day...

Happy Earth Day! I am a little behind on this, but felt strongly about making a change. Yesterday while I was at the store I picked up some of their bags, that they sell there. I need to pick up some more, but this is a start. I always feel a little guilty, seeing the amount of plastic bags, that come into our home each

I caught part of Oprah last week. It really caught my attention! It was about how much we waste. I know, and have known for quite some time, that our family wastes w-a-y to much. It is time for a change. The first thing I have done is made a goal to not pick up fast food, or eat out as much. This is what got my 14 day meal plan going. Now as of Monday we are going to start Oprah's challenge! We will have to change it a little to our family's needs. I am soooo excited to give it a try!

Here is the link if you want to take a look. :)http://www.oprah.com/tows/slide/200804/20080417/slide_20080417_284_101.jhtml

cute vinyl...

I love all of the fun things that you can do with vinyl! I have used it in a few different places in our home. I really like the idea that you can put it up for as long as you would like. Then once you want a different look in a specific room, it comes off as easily as it was to put on. Here are a few things that I think are so cute! Do you have vinyl decorating your home? :)

Happy Monday!

There is always something about Mondays I like. Maybe it is the routine of knowing what will take place. I always try to stay home, a good part of Monday, to get things in order for a good start of the new week. I am off to clean, fold, wash, toss, etc. I am also starting our 14 dinner meal plan. Tonight is shredded barbecue sandwiches. I'm off to put the roast in the crock pot. Happy Monday! :)

roses...

Sweet Sarah, and I

Night before last we were headed out to dinner. Before we left, I just had to get a few pictures of our roses. I love looking at them, and enjoy their sweet smell. Right now we have pink, hot pink, yellow, white, and peach colors. Here is a picture of when, we took time to smell the roses. :)

cupcakes...

Last week I was in the mood to bake. I had seen these nifty cupcake holders around. I picked this up last week. It sure does the job! I thought at first it looked flimsy. Nope, it held a dozen cupcakes. I decided to make lemon cupcakes. I have to say they are now my new favorite treat!

American Idol!

I have shared before, I am a huge American Idol fan. Tonight we recorded it. We have Young Women's on Wednesday nights. I came home, and was so excited to see what took place, while I was gone. I am not going to say who went home . There may be a few of you that recorded it too. For those of you who watched it tonight...What did you think? I just have to say, the contestants this year have some amazing talent! :)

My sweet boy Jake...

Jacob, Cody, and Robbie. These three are the best of friends. Robbie is a year older. He had to come see what the fun was all about. :)

Jacob, and Kellie

I can't believe that my baby boy is going to graduate from high school in just over a month. I am so proud of him. Along with graduation prom comes along. Saturday night Jake, and his date attended the prom at a location near Falcon Field airport. Jake looked stunning!!! I looked at him, and tried hard to hold tears back. I don't know how the time flies so fast. It just seems like yesterday that my little toe headed boy was playing in the backyard with his brothers, and sister. He loved the Little Tike's cabin that stayed in the yard for quite a while. He would stand on the roof of it, and smile that sweet smile he has. Here are a few pictures of the the prom April 12, 2008.

Back, and running...

We had some computer problems at our house! Thanks to Jacob we are back up, and running again. Jacob is so computer savvy. He sure didn't get it from his Mom! :)

I was looking thru some pictures this morning, and ran across these! It looks like Mollie was wanting to join in on the fun, with Sarah. I wonder what the neighbors thought! :) There is always something going on over here. :)

the weekend...

Isn't he cute!

This weekend was such a nice, and relaxing one. It was conference weekend, which made it that much more special. I will write my thoughts about conference in another post. :) We have spent the last three nights eating outside. We are trying to enjoy this wonderful weather. Warm days are right around the corner.

My Mom made me this darling wreath. I like it so much I thought I would hang it on the pool gate, instead of my front door. I see the gate in the backyard several times a day. The front door we rarely use. We usually always enter thru the side garage door. This wreath reminds me of my Mom, and of happy! It is so cheery. Thank you Mom for thinking of me, and making it. :) I also found these cute little ducks at of all places, Safeway this week. They were to cute to pass by. Summer is in the air, and we are loving it! :)

sewing...wish me luck! :)

I have been inspired to make an attempt at sewing! :)

I have noticed in the last few days that I have really been inspired by reading others blogs. I always have an ongoing list going, of things I would like to do. This week it seems like that list has gotten longer. I have read about wonderful recipes, dinner menus, organizational skills, photography, sewing, etc. Well, after all of my reading, etc. I am pulling out my sewing machine. I am sure that there is much dust that needs to be wiped off of it. I don't think I have sewn in probably 15 years or so. I have never been a seamstress! I remember taking Home Ec. in school. I took sewing two times, and always struggled thru it. This weekend I am going to attempt a swimsuit cover-up. I bought the material, and am ready to make a go of it. Wish me luck! :)

me

I love this quote, and picture. Today has been a great day for me. Nothing unusual, nothing really special happened. I just enjoyed being me. I have been thinking about how blessed I am. I know that my joy, and happiness is a blessing from my heavenly father.
