Cabin...

Snow outside of Heber about 15 miles. We didn't have any snow though.

Mollie enjoyed being snuggled up in the cabin.

We headed up to the cabin Friday morning. I have Thanksgiving I want to post about. I will get to it tonight or tomorrow. Right now I need to start some laundry. It was nice to get to the cabin. We really took it easy. Read a little, watched Christmas movies, ate a little, etc.

Now it is time to get in high gear for Christmas!!! What a beautiful time of the year.

Apple crisp...Yum!

Apple Crisp

1 can of apple pie filling (or make your own!)
3/4 C brown sugar
1/2 C flour
1 t Cinnamon
1/3 C melted butter
1/2 C oatmeal

Spread apples in a pan, blend remaining ingredients until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples and bake for 30 minutes at 350. (It's yum if you double the topping too!)

Here is a recipe I stumbled upon on someone else's blog. If it was yours, thank you!!! This is my new favorite recipe. I have made it 4 times in the past 2 weeks. We have taken it to a ward dinner, on our trip, and to some friends in our ward. You can use apple or peach pie filling from the store. You also can make your own. Here you go...I just have to share.

The dunes, and Twilight...

We are back home, and have the sand dusted off of us! We headed to the dunes in Glamis California, on Thursday. Steve, and my boys have been going for about 4-5 years. For some reason I thought it just wasn't my thing. They usually go about 4-6 times a year. Well, I finally mustered up the gumption to go. I am SO happy I did! Sarah, and I had a blast! We now are wondering why we didn't go sooner. It was so nice to spend time with Steve, Ben, Nate, Jake, and Sarah. We needed that time away as a family. We also went with the Bennett's in our ward. They are tons of fun! Later we were joined with about 5 or more other families. We got home last night around 7:00. We changed clothes, and headed to see the movie Twilight. It was so good! I now am a Twilight fan! Erin joined us. It wa so fun to see her, and catch up. Thank you Erin, for watching the girls...Mollie, and Missie. Our Cockapoo, and Golden Retriever. Well, I am off to finish up the American Music Awards. I hope everyone had a wonderful sabbath. I taught a lesson today on Change. It was a great lesson for the the Beehives. 12-13 year old girls at church. I feel so blessed to spend time with them each week.

ohhh the laundry! :)

Have I mentioned before I really, and I mean r-e-a-l-l-y don't care for laundry. In the past years, I have really tried to take a liking to these dirty clothes, that show up in my laundry room daily. No such luck. The past few days. guess what I have been doing? Laundry! I am just about all caught up. I have a question. Has anyone heard of a company that sells disposable clothing? :) If so, they have a buyer! :) Have a happy Wednesday! :)

Ohy so cute! 3 boys, and a girl...

So cute! LJinks shop from Etsy. I have never met her, but love her work!

I found this http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5843485shop about 3 weeks ago. I fell in love with the artists work. I wanted a picture of three boys, and a girl. Perfect for my family! I received a e-mail yesterday that notified me that she now is carrying just what I wanted. I am headed over to her etsy shop now. I just had to share my news. I think some of you will like this little shop too. :)

Blessings on the sabbath...

I feel blessed to be able to attend church each Sunday with my family. With the world ever changing, it always feels so good to walk into our church building. The one thing that isn't uncertain in today's world, are my beliefs. For this I feel so blessed.

Ta Da!

I finally cleaned out the kitchen pantry! It feels so good to be able to see everything clearly. Between cereal boxes, cookies, applesauce, etc. the shelves were getting a little messy. Well, actually...a lot messy! :) I even put my sugar, and flour in containers. This will be so much easier, and less of a mess. I just have to show off my hard work.

Saturday...

Yesterday morning, as the sun was shining thru the kitchen, I was lucky enough to snap these pictures.

We just got back from helping clean our church building. We were there at 7:00. It felt good to get up, and at em, and serve. This morning I am headed to a holiday boutique. I LOVE boutiques. There is something about them, that always puts me in the holiday spirit! This afternoon I have put on my agenda, to clean out the kitchen pantry. Fun Fun! :) I am trying to think positive. What are your Saturday plans? What ever they may be, have a super Saturday!

Cooking with Sarah...

Dip cookies in white chocolate.

Us

These cookies were so fun to make.Amy who is on my sidebar, posted the idea on her cute blog. I made a lot of them one afternoon last week. I made up some plates, to take to some neighbors, a few days before Halloween. They are easy, yummy, and oh so cute. I am planning on making some around Christmas. Instead of ghosts, they will be little snowman.

I am trying to teach Sarah different things in the kitchen. We had a free afternoon on Tuesday, so we decided to make some more ghosts. It was a fun afternoon. I love the feeling I get when Sarah, and I are in the kitchen working side by side.

Our little princess

Thank you all for such sweet, and encouraging words. They mean so much to me. I read them on, and off thru the day yesterday. When my heart was feeling heavy, they put a smile in my heart..again thank you. When the time is right, I will share more. For now, we still are in a state of shock, pain, and many other emotions that I am not even sure how to label. I do believe that there is a reason for everything. I also believe that Heavenly Father is right here with us. There has been a lot of prayer going on.

On a much happier note...Happy late Halloween! I hope everyone had a booootiful day. Here are some pictures of our night last night. I was so glad that Halloween was yesterday. We have a tradition of hanging out on the porch, and visiting with family, and friends on Halloween. Anyone, and everyone is welcome to stop by, and stay as long as they would like. We had pizza, pop, and of course candy! I have to say some of these kids costumes had me smiling.
