Things are...

Taken on Mother's Day..Sarah, me, and Jacob

Getting back to normal! I sure have missed these two. Jake went on a canoe trip down the Colorado river with some of the young men, and their leaders this week. Sarah went to BYU Provo to attend EFY. Last night Jacob got home!!! Early this afternoon Sarah got home! Nate has been home this week, but has been busy. He has been taking a summer school class, and is in a cadets program. We are all back to normal around here. Everyone is playing Rock Band right now. It feels like summer is now officially starting. Sarah took off a few days after school got out last week. Jake followed a few days after that. I hope everyone is having a Happy Weekend! :)

not so good...

Well, we went to Sprinkles. I sure don't want to be Debbie Downer, but these things are horrible! So far no one here has been able to finish one of them. K, is it just my family? These cupcakes are about 75% frosting, and 25% dried cupcake. So far it looks like the other 5 or so cupcakes will be going to the garbage. We had a Rock Band get together last night. I set them out for the kiddos to eat. They finally said that they are gross, and went to Krispy Creams! I have to admit I was happy when they brought me back a few raspberry filled donuts! YUM! So that is my take on Sprinkles. The only thing, I seriously can think of, is that Oprah said they were good, so it has attracted people to this place. I spent 35.00 on a dozen cupcakes!!! I was just thinking about all of the cupcakes I could have made...next time. :)

Sprinkles...

I think Mollie, and Missy may even get a treat! Don't tell Steve! ha!

I have been looking forward to visiting http://www.sprinklescupcakes.com/ My Mom, and I decided today would be a good day to go see what all of the talk was about. I can't wait!!! I LOVE to make cupcakes, and can't wait to see these cute little things! I read that Oprah loves them! If Oprah loves them, then they must be great! We shall see!

It has been so quite around here. Sarah is still at EFY in Provo. Jake is on a river rafting trip with the priests, and teachers from our ward. I can't wait for them both to get home! I am so happy that they both are having so much fun!!! I love the fact that they both are doing something that will be such a great memory. I'm excited to see pictures!

I am off to get ready to head over to Scottsdale. My Mom, and I are going to shop a little, and then hit Sprinkles on the way home. I'll let you know what I think! :)

The sabbath, and a new temple!

Tonight is the first night in many that all is calm. Graduations are over, and summer has started. We just put Sarah on the plane to attend EFY at BYU in Provo. She is so excited for it to begin tomorrow morning. This will be the longest amount of time that she has been away from home. The boys were all so cute about her going. They let her know to not talk to boys! Like that is going to happen. They are quite protective of her. It actually is quite cute. 3 older brothers, and a little sister. I feel so blessed when I see the love they have for one another.

Another bit of exciting news is http://newsroom.lds.org/ldsnewsroom/eng/news-releases-stories/new-temple-for-phoenix-arizona-announced#continued It amazes me how the church has kept growing, and growing in Arizona. I just can't imagine 5 temples whithin a few hours from eachother. This makes my heart happy. It is amazing to know that the gospel is growing at such a fast pace, right here in Arizona.

I am off to work on some jewelry. I haven't had time for this, much less any hobbies lately. I have missed it. I finally feel like we all can take a big breath, and relax. :) Happy Sabbath! :)

busy as a bee...

Busy busy! We have had a few crazy busy weeks. I will post more after tonight's festivities. Sarah graduated from Junior Hugh this morning. We barely escaped the rain! Jake graduates in 2 1/2 hours, and it has been raining now for about 6 hours. His graduation is scheduled to be outdoors. The back up plan is, to put the audience in the classrooms. We will watch the graduation via the classroom T.V.'s The graduation will take place in the gym with only the graduates, and no family present. :( This will be a first! 2 days ago it was 110, this afternoon it is 55!!! I am off to get ready for Jake's big night!!!!

Lunch with the girls!

Standing: Julie's sister, daughter, Janie, me.
Seated: Julie holding her little girl, Julie's Mom, Julie, and hope.

Friday was a fun time! Julie from Nevada was in town. Janie, Julie, and I joined her for lunch. I have been looking forward to meeting her. We comment on each others blogs. I am trying to remember when Julie started her blog. I would guess it has been quite a few months now. It was so comfortable, and I felt like I had known her for a long time.

Can someone tell me how to add links to my posts? I always refer to my sidebar, but would love to know how to insert names, links, etc. Thanks! :)

painting...

This is the room that needs a splash of color!

I have been wanting to paint the front room for some time now. The bug has struck me! The painting bug that is! I have been looking for a mossy green paint. I have had the color in my mind, but couldn't quite find what I was looking for. Yesterday was the day! I came home, and painted a poster board with the paint I found. I also did this with another color I thought would work. Then I left the board in the room all day. I was trying to see what the color would look like with the light shining on it. I like it in the sun, and at nigt. It's a keeper! I am planning on starting to paint this weekend. I need to tape of the room before then. I can't wait! I LOVE color, and this room has never been quite right to me. I like the room, just not the walls! :) Are any of you working on any house projects right now? I would love to hear about them. :)

Tuesday...

The past few days have been so busy. I feel like the lady in the picture! ha ha! I am enjoying all of the busy things going on, but feel liked my feet are going faster than the rest of me! :) I do keep taking a little time to rest enough so the Epstein Barr doesn't come back for a visit. The kids last day of school will be a week from Thursday! Then is is time to relax! We will have a little celebration for Jacob, here at the house after graduation is over that night.

On another note...American Idol is on tonight!!!! I am looking forward to seeing the top 4 perform. Who is your favorite? I still have my fingers crossed for David Archuleta. David Cook is my second vote.

Happy Mother's Day...

I woke up to a beautiful card, and roses. Steve wrote...Your the greatest Mom in the world. Our kids are lucky to have such a wonderful mom, and it shows in everything they do!
I have been so blessed to have my four beautiful children, that call me Mom. To me there is no greater calling than to be a Mother. I thank my Heavenly Father for giving me my precious angels. Have a wonderful Mother's Day everyone!

wrapping up the school year...

Every year about this time it seems like things go into busy mode! With only 2 weeks left of school there, are many activities going on to wrap up the school year. Band concert, finals, graduations, end of the school get togethers, etc. So many wonderful things wrapped up into a small amount of time. I am putting my camera in the car, to make sure I have it with me for all of thee fun activities! Does anyone else feel like this time of year is go go go? :)

almost summer...

This weekend brought a lot of sunshine, and time out by the pool. It officially feels like it is summer! The temperatures have been in the mid 90's. The kiddos get out of school in a little over 2 weeks! A few times during the day you can hear Sarah counting the days, hours, and minutes. Let the summer fun begin! :)

He's just about to graduate!

The styles these days sure have changed. The clips in the arm sleaves are something new to me.

Well, little by little I am getting my energy back. Today I was able to get out for a few hours, and run some errands. I am trying to get into a herbologist to help with the epstein barr. I hope she calls back soon! :)

On a much more brighter note ...here is Jake's Senior portraits. I think this boy of mine is pretty darn special! When I look into his eyes I still see my little toe headed baby boy. I also see the wonderful young man he is turning out to be.
I feel so blessed that Hevenly Father sent this sweet boy to me. I am proud to be his Mom.
