Happy Leap Year!

I hope everyone is having a happy day! I am going to make a confession. I have always heard about leap year, and knew it was an extra day of the year, but never really did any research about it. After talking to my Mom on the phone about leap year this morning, I decided to do a little research. I learned that there are 5 Fridays on our calendar for this month. The month began with a Friday, and now is ending on a Friday. With this added special day, we get 366 days this year. :) I also was wondering why do we need this extra day. This is what I found. Leap years are needed to keep our calendar in alignment with the earths revolutions round the sun. Now when the kids ask me today why we have this day, I will have a legitimate answer. :) Have a great day!

cleaning update...

Well, there was a change of plans. :) After I typed my last post I was planning on heading to my bedroom to get to work. Sarah woke up sick Monday morning, and has been home all week. I feel so bad for her. She is just miserable. She has chills, cold, cough, aches, etc. The only thing that seems to help is aspirin, and the rice heating bag, that I heat in the microwave. She loves the warmth, and comfort of this bag. So, back to my cleaning. I changed areas of cleaning. My room is in the back of the house. Sarah has been resting in the living room. My motivation brought me to clean out my laundry room. This felt great to get done! I also caught up on the laundry on Monday. Today I think I will straighten a few drawers in the kitchen. :) While I am on this kick, I bet run with it! I hope my spring cleaning mood lasts a while longer. It sure feels good to get some things done that I have been putting off. Have you gotten the spring cleaning bug yet? :)

cleaning my closet, and my desk in my bedroom. These are two things that I have been putting off. Today is the day! I figure if I put these things in writing, it may motivate me to get to work, and complete these projects. :) I am in a spring cleaning mood! I hope it lasts a while. I have many projects calling my name. I will post when these things are done today....motivation! :)

My Birthday...

Thank you all for the Birthday wishes! They sure did put a huge smile on my face. It is always so nice to be remembered. I had a good Birthday! The kids had the day off of school for President's day. I spent the good part of the day at home with the kids. Right were I wanted to be. I did take off in the morning with Sarah, to get a pedicure. We went to a new place not to far from here. We sat down, got our feet in the water etc. The gal working on my feet said...When it is your Birthday come back, and we give free manicures. I let her know that it was my birthday. Her husband, who was working on Sarah's toes got up, and went to the back. He turned on this C.D., that had about 8 different versions of little kids singing Happy Birthday. It was darling! I have to admit I did get a little emberrased, but at the same time got a good laugh with Sarah.

Last night we met my family at Mi Amigos for Mexican food! We had a lot of fun eating, and talking. It was so fun to be with everyone. I got a lot of fun gifts. Everyone was way to sweet. I got Photoshop from Steve, along with a gift card! I am SOOO excited to start digi scrapbooking!!! I am hoping this will be another hobby I will enjoy! I am thinking it will be. :) We came home, I took a nice hot bath, and went to bed. It was a great ending to a great day! :)

Saturday...

Our Valentine's day was a happy one. We shared cards, chocolate, a Valentine cookie cake, and time together. Steve gave me a sweet card, and some beautiful roses. He is very thoughtful. I was in the store yesterday, and saw Easter decorations on the shelf! For some reason I just wasn't expecting it to already be there. Those stores are on it!

I have been having fun looking at the site today.

It is a site that people can show off the decorating that the have done. It is so fun to see different ideas. It's a fun site to look at if you have a little free tim. :) Well, I am off to check on lunch. Happy Saturday :)

are you ready?

Well, tomorrow is Valentine's, and I hope I am ready. I can't type a lot about what I am planning for tomorrow, because some of my family reads my blog. Is everyone ready for the special day? What kind of plans do you have? If you have anything fun planned I would love to read about it! :) I will share mine tomorrow, that way I won't be giving any secrets out to the family.

SPT-Valentine's...Love me.

These have been on the counter this month. I am trying to think of something to fill them after Valentine's day. Any ideas? :)

Reading about Love and Logic

This weeks SPT challenge is Love, me

What will you do for yourself for Valentine's day?

This sValentine's is going to be a little different for our family. We usually all spend it together as a family. Steve, and I have been taking a class on Thursday nights called Love, and Logic. We are loving it! We were hoping that they would change the night it was held, this week becasue of Valentine's day. No such luck. I think this year we will take the kids out to dinner early, then head to our class. It really has been bugging me that we won't be home Thursday evening. I just love traditions, and don't like to break them. :) As for what I will do for myself on Valentine's...hmmm. I am in need for some spring clothes. Our temps. have gone from cool, to the high 70's, in a matter of days. Maybe I will head to the mall, and pick up some T's in spring colors. I am loving all of the bright, and cheery colors that I am seeing.

movie night...

Sarah took this picture before we left for the evening. :)

Friday we decided to have a movie night out. Sarah, and I had been wanting to see 27 dresses. Jake, and Steve weren't to sure about that one. We decided we would split up. Steve, and Jake Saw Bucket List, with Jack Nicholson. They said it was great! Sarah, and I headed to the other side of the theater to see 27 dresses. It was a really cute, and light hearted movie. We need to go to the movies more often. It is always so good to sit there, and be entertained. It was a fun night, and everyone went home happy. :)

The zoo...

Yesterday My Mom, sister, nephew, and I, all headed to the Phoenix zoo. I haven't been to the zoo in a few years. It was fun to walk, talk, look at the animals etc. Christopher, and my sister have yearly passes so they go often. It was so cute to see Christopher know, right were certain animals were. The weather was sunny, and 70. I am so glad that it is warming up. Do you go to the zoo often? Do your kids enjoy it? Well, I am off to work on the never ending laundry! :) I am beginning to think that recyclable clothing would be a good idea!

A wonderful afternoon...

I had such a nice afternoon, I had just had to blog about it. I met my cousin Ashley, she's on my sidebar, at a cute little restaurant called Sweet Cakes in downtown Mesa. Sweet Cakes has the best sandwiches, and cookies! After lunch we walked around a few of the shops on Main. It was the perfect afernoon. The sun was shining, and it was beautiful outside. Ashley is not only my cousin, she is a wonderful friend. I can tell her anything, and she never judges. We can talk non stop, and when it is time to leave, still aren't quite done talking! :) Ashley, thank you so much for being such a wonderful friend, and cousin. :)

SPT

so how about a fill-in-the-blanks? we had some fun with something like this last fall. all you need to do is fill in the blanks and insert your spt. ready?

the other day, i was in my _____________, and i noticed this _______________. my only thought was, "why do i still have this hanging around my house?!?"

I have had frames sitting on my bedroom floor for months now. They are proped up next to my desk. I bought these frames months ago. I had intentions of putting the kids pictures in them after Christmas. We had new pictures taken for Christmas, so this was a great time! Well, as of this morning the frames are still there. Todays challnge has helped me get motivated to hang them on the wall were they belong! Thanks Lelly! :) I am headed to get a hammer, and some nails!

Sunday...

I made these chocolate covered pretzels to take to my Mom's yesterday. They were so fun, and easy to make.

Yesterday was a good day. The leaders of the youth in our ward took the youth to the Randlph center. We left our homes right after 7:00 a.m to head to Coolidge. The Randolph center is a facility that houses severely handicapped adults. It is owned by the state. For many years our church has sent the youth, and leaders to attend church services there. When we arrived we had a little introduction. Then we were assigned a patient to go, and meet. We then took our patient back to Sacrament meeting. These sweet patients are so severly handicapped. Our patient was named Larry. He never uttered a word. We could tell though by his response that he was happy to have us there. It was a great time, and wonderul learning experience for all of us. We returend home right after 1:00.

We then headed to my Mom, and Lash's to watch the Superbowl! Wow, what a game! Everyone was on pins, and needles down to the last few seconds. We had a good time, and good food.

February 1

Happy February! I found this on my cousin Ahley's blog. I just had to share it. It is way to cute to not pass along. You take a picture of your child, print, and add a lollipop! These would make the cutest Valentine's. So cute, yet so easy.
