Jacob's ankle surgery...

Jacob had his ankle surgery on Tuesday morning. He is home, and resting. So far today, he seems to be having less pain than yesterday. I am happy about that. Mollie has been right by his side the past few days. I know that she knows, that he isn't feelig quite up to par. I had to take a picture of the two of them this morning. CUTE! :)

Hummingbird feeder...

Every time I see a hummingbird, or a hummingbird feeder I think of my Grandma. We called her Nanny. Nanny always had a Hummingbird feeder out her kitchen window. I now have one outside my kitchen window. It always gives me a feeling of warmth when I look out, and see it. I cherish these kind of memories. Simple, yet so meaningful. Is there anything you do or have that makes you think of someone in your family?

Actually more than one, or two or three...You get the idea. I thought I would spare you the scare today, and just post about my 25Th hour ! :)

Rain

I want to thank all of you for the nice comments you left me. It made me feel so good to realize that I have developed such friendships with my blogging journey. You all are such wonderful people! It is so uplifting to visit your blogs, and see what is going on in your life's, families, etc.

We woke up to rain this morning. It has been raining all day. We sure do need the moisture. I think it must be my mood, because in my head I keep repeating the words. Rain Rain Go Away! :)I want the sunshine to shine behind those clouds. I lived in Oregon when I was younger. The rain didn't bother me a bit. The older I have gotten, I realize I am a sun person. I was born in Arizona, and have spent the most of my life here. I think at times I take the sun for granted. I am home today from church. I was supposed to teach today. It bothers me soooo bad that I am not at church. I am trying to adapt to the fact that I do really have to take it easy. This hasn't been easy for me. I tend to fight it, and then it makes it wore. It is all about acceptance I guess. All, and all I am doing OK. Just rest, rest, and more rest. Boring! :)

not feeling well

I have been sooo tired lately, chills body aches, etc. It all started right after Christmas. I think it did, anyway. I had some blood work done. I have Epstein Barr. I guess I am glad that I now know what I have. The bad part is, I don't like what I have. I flat out, am sooo tired. I go to see the Dr. again next week. Until then I am trying to rest as much as I can. This can be challenging when you live at my house! :) I have decided to simplify things around here for the time being. Just do what I can do, and the rest will get done eventually. This too shall pass.

Home Sweet Home

Everyone worked on this puzzle during the weekend. Ben woke up this morning, and finished it! YEA! Ben!

We made it home from the cabin late this morning. We had a great time with the kids. I was sad that Nate couldn't join us. He had to work! :( Today I am staying home, and working on laundry, and working around the house a little. I need to concentrate on making this weeks grocery list too. I am going to make up a menu for the week, and try to really stick to it. We are really concentrating on eating whole foods. Steve, and I are trying to curve the way our family eats. We are trying to make 2008 a great year! Well, I am off to start the laundry. I hope everyone is enjoying their Monday!

Classic books

I decided that this year was going to be the year to read books, that I have always wanted to, but haven't. When I was younger I must have been busy reading Little House on the Prairie books, and Beverly Cleary books. It seems like I read very little of the classic books. The kind of books that have been around for years. Today I finished Anne of Green Gables. That is such a sweet book. I am so glad I read it! The next book I will be reading is Heidi. I can't wait to start it! We are up at the cabin this weekend, a perfect place to read.

Arizona citrus!

This is the time of year, that I get spoiled with beautiful citrus that grows in Arizona! I love the fact, that these beautiful fruits grow right outside the back door! Yesterday I had at least 5 tangerines! Yes, a little over indulgent! I love oranges, tangerines, lemons, and grapefruit, they are - oh so good this time of year.

My boy Jake

What a day Jake had yesterday. He had a Dr.'s appointment in the afternoon. He has been struggling with his ankle, and foot now for over 1 1/2 years. We have had 3 surgeries, and just found out yesterday that Jake will be having another one. So we left our appointment, and headed for home. While we were driving, we discussed what the next months will bring etc. My heart really goes out for Jacob. He has been the best patient, yet has grown frustrated. I totally don't blame him. We got home, and decided we would go eat at Cafe Rio. I really just didn't feel like cooking. Well, it was time to leave, and no Jake??? To make a long story short he had taken a ride around the neighborhood on his pocket bike. This is nothing abnormal. I got in the car to go look for him. I took the corner, out of our cul de sac, and saw that he had been pulled over by the police on his little bike! Poor kid! No one told us but these little bikes are now illegal to ride in the town limits! The day ended good with a yummy dinner, but oh what a day!

New recipes for a new year

Since it a new year, I have decided to try new recipes. Last night, I thought it would be a good night to have Indian Fry Bread. Kari-kariswarmplace.blogdspot.com shared this great recipe. Steve made some of his wonderful salsa to go along with it. I served the fry bread with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and then powdered sugar, and honey! YUM! I think the kids liked having something a little different. I will for sure be making this again. Thanks Kari!

Valentine's!

I thought I would bring out a few Valentines decorations. I was just thinking it is in one month! I picked up this red basket, in Utah this fall. I just knew I would find a use for it. I went to Michael's the other day, and picked up some flowers. I decided on mostly reds, for Valentine's Day.

I love watching my kids, enjoy the activities that they participate in. This afternoon, we are headed over to see Sarah cheer. Not that this is anything new. I am pretty sure, I have been there every time. I am very proud of her dedication to her team. YEA! Sarah!

My words for 2008

Do it Now! These are my three words for 2008! Spencer W. Kimball, the 12th prophet of our church, spoke these words years ago. I remember hearing them, and they have played thru my mind over, and over. I am in hopes, that by choosing these words I will be inspired to... Do it Now! :) I do tend to procrastinate, and I would love for that to change. Even just a little would be great! :)
