Earth Day...

Happy Earth Day! I am a little behind on this, but felt strongly about making a change. Yesterday while I was at the store I picked up some of their bags, that they sell there. I need to pick up some more, but this is a start. I always feel a little guilty, seeing the amount of plastic bags, that come into our home each

I caught part of Oprah last week. It really caught my attention! It was about how much we waste. I know, and have known for quite some time, that our family wastes w-a-y to much. It is time for a change. The first thing I have done is made a goal to not pick up fast food, or eat out as much. This is what got my 14 day meal plan going. Now as of Monday we are going to start Oprah's challenge! We will have to change it a little to our family's needs. I am soooo excited to give it a try!

Here is the link if you want to take a look. :)http://www.oprah.com/tows/slide/200804/20080417/slide_20080417_284_101.jhtml

Michelle, great inspiration in here. I needed yesterday to motivate me even more. I caught some really great tips on doing better. I have slowed way down on purchases. Its like I don't need to feel a void anymore. Its weird.
My son is back in the town of Tempe. He was at ASU, but he says he is in a really rich part. Do you happen to know a Shelly Turner? She is my niece. Her husband is Jason. Just curious. They live in Gil. Have a great green time with those nifty bags.

Hi Donna:)

I've been thinking about doing that lately. But, I think I would like to make my own ~ kinda been brainstorming about it. We have way too many of those dang plastic bags!

I have some of the Target reusuable bags - I have seen in the newspaper some ultra cute ones at Trader Joes that I want to get. Good for you! I love Earth Day.

You go Girl!! Good for you doing all that recycling stuff! We waste way too much too. But we rarely eat out, even fast food. (It's mainly for my waist line! ;) )

And I use those plastic bags from the grocery store to line my bathroom trashes and other miscellaneous uses - I rarely just throw one away.

I have been posting that we are drying our clothes outside this week. I was actually able to do so much more because the wind blew them dry in no time at all.

I have several wide drying racks set up on my deck and I can get much more done if I don't wait for the gas dryer to do one load at a time.

You are so good to get those bags. I've been thinking about doing the same thing, but that's as far as it's gotten. Thanks for sharing that link, too.
