Fall is in the air!
This picture is from the web. I will post pictures of the fall that will be happening at our home! :)
I have been counting down the days before I decorated our front porch/door for fall. Once September comes around I am so excited to get out the fall decorations. Sometimes I feel it is a little unfortunate that it is still 95 outside, and it still feel like summer. Actually this morning was beautiful. I could actually feel fall in the air. To me that is one of the best feelings. I have a love for holidays, and always have. So, when Steve gets home this evening he will be in the attic getting the decorations down. I would get up in the attic, but am afraid to. :) Are you getting excited for fall, and all of the wonderful things that come with it?
I wanted to also post about slowing down. It amazes me how much goes on in this family. Last night I got home from the church. Steve was sitting in the recliner looking like he was about to fall asleep. He is a night owl, so this is unusual for him. We where talking about how tired we both have been feeling. I was sitting there wondering why we both could be feeling this way. I realized that tonight is the first night we have been home in 9 nights! We have literally had one thing after another. We have had family dinners, church activities, etc. etc. I am sure my kids have to be tired too. So tonight we are home! I am a homebody by nature. I have always made a point for the family to be together at night, or at least dinner time. So, this post is about slowing down, and doing what matters the most. Spending time as a family, and enjoying each others company.

You know what's funny....Chloe used to ask "why can't we decorate for Halloween like 'normal' families do"!!? She was very young & I thought her little mind was cute thinking this way. Her idea of decorating for fall, was hanging lollipop ghosts from our trees and spider webs in the doorway ;)It MUST cool down first!
Good for you for always having your family home together at nights. I want to do that too!
Amen...I am in dire need to slowing down! Brian teases me about my 14 hour work days...I struggle to get out of bed. I just don't want to work away my earth life...even if it is in the home. Thanks for the reminder to stop and take it all in TOGETHER!
Oh, and I am SO ready for fall EVERYTHING...especially pumpkin in all of it's wonderful edible forms!
Great idea! Love it. And I have to say that I didn't snack all day until...at 3:00 Little L came home with a mini sized bag of M&M's and I ate 5 of them. But normally I would have eaten the whole bag by myself, so I thought that was good of me.
Hey, I was thinking that maybe next time we get together we could hit a fun boutique instead of a lunch? What do you think?
we are the complete opposite right now-girls have no extra activities, nobody is in mutual..our nights are always ALL at home! guess i'd better enjoy it while it lasts!!
fun to get excited for fall!
Oh yes! I so agree about slowing down and taking it easy. It's just so nice to be home for once and just 'hang out'.
Even if it's still hot outside, I think if you start decorating for fall, it will get other folks into the spirit of the season.
OH i also need to learn how to slow down more. Ryan and i get to bed about 11:00pm everynight. Then we are up at 5:45 am. Go all day.
Crazy.
I am also ready for fall. OH fall is in the air here. So nices. I also have lots of B-day to plan for OCT!!!!!
Sounds peaceful, especially hafter all those days of being out. There is nothing like that feeling of walking through the door of home and finding family their to greet you.
Fall is such a fun time of year, I'm so excited too!
Psst, Michelle, remember me? :") This is Tabi from MC, if you don't.
I just ran across your blog and thought I'd read up a bit on how you're doing and you sound SO busy! I hope you have a nice, relaxing weekend to wind down.
I love fall and all the decorations for it, so I can't wait to stop by your blog again sometime soon and see what you've come up with!
Hope you and the family are well otherwise. :)

Can't wait to see pics of your fall decorations! Thanks for the reminder - I need to go get my fall wreath out for my front door!
Great post about slowing down and enjoying our families. Our life is fairly slow but sometimes we let other distractions like the tv get in the way of our family time. This was a great reminder to me!
I'm excited for fall too and ready to decorate for Halloween even. sad really. Halloween is far away. and so is cool weather , I can't wait to let the kids play outside again. my family is home all evening together but i am often not. but i get all day with them. and i have not signed up for anything extra for anyone. but i get worn out and ready to be home sometimes too!
I also love fall and the decorations - in fact i was shopping for pumpkins just last night (decorative ones!).
Slowing down is an essential part of life if you want to survive, huh! Thanks for the great reminder of what we can do to strengthen our families.
I love fall too.. I have been getting out decorations.. I love the change of seasons and schedules..
Home.. I too love being home. I am really a home body.. I love it when my family is at home too!
On the one hand I can't wait to get my Autumn decor out too, but on the other hand it means cold weather is right around the corner for us. And after the cold, snowy winter last year I wish we were STILL in the 90's like you guys.
I told my hubby I think I could deal with the heat of AZ again, better than the Cold of Colorado!! But I do love it here!
I wish I was eager to put up decorations, I guess I am just too lazy. I bet your porch looks darling when it's decorated. Enjoy your nice relaxing evening!
oh my heavens I can hardly wait! At Gardner Village they are starting to put up all the witches and I am just in heaven! I am getting my fall decor out today to just enhance the little furniture and decor we have!! sad huh!
I may not have dinning room chairs but I have fall leaves and pumpkins!!!!
Its been a "fall" kind of day here and I decorated my house! It feels great and so warm and COZY!! LOVE this time of year!!
I was just thinking about getting my fall stuff out today too! It's 83 degrees here though, a bit cooler than AZ. But next week is definitely in the 70's, so perhaps it's starting?! I love fall, it's my most favorite! I have already bought my mums. :)
I'm also a homebody -- didn't used to be, but since I went back to work, all I want to do is be home. LOL
Slowing down sounds like such great advice. I really need to do that sometimes.
Autumn is awesome! I even got married in November so I could have my reception all "autumned-out"!
Wow, I totally need to remember to slow down. Especially on the weekends. We all seem to run ourselves into the ground!
I soo hear you on slowing down. Yes, SOO excited for fall! I just decked out my house and am so lovin it!
I love the fall too- the beginning of all the festivities!
