Annual quilt show
We headed up to the cabin early Friday morning. I think I am in heaven! The temperatures have been about 30 degrees cooler than at home. It always amazes me that it is only 2 hours, and 15 minutes from door to door, and soooo much cooler. Yesterday was a fun day. The annual quilt show was going on. I never miss it! I have always wanted to be able to make these beautiful quilts, that have teeny tiny stitches. I seriously look at these, and think that it would take me years to accomplish one! :) I hope some day this dream of mine comes true. I am determined to learn how to make one of these beautiful pieces, someday. Steve, Jake, Sarah, and I, all headed over to the middle school, to see these beauties. I think Steve, and Jake really went along knowing that there is always a bake sale, that fills the halls, before entering the quilt show. They eat their goodies after viewing the quilts. :) Sticky fingers wouldn't be a good mix with the beautiful quilts. Here are a few pictures of these gorgeous pieces. I always think of the patience, time, thought, and love, that go into the making.

Oh i love quilts. I really would love to make one in my life.
Have a fun time at the cabin and enjoy the cooler temps:)
Those quilts are beautiful. You have a wonderful talent of jewelry making Im sure if you have the creativity to do that you can learn to quilt too.
I know how to 'tie' a quilt ;)
That's about it. But I do enjoy it.
I hope some of that cooler weather will follow you back home!!urgh!
Those really are beautiful blankets. I don't have the desire to make those, when you learn, let me know, and I'll buy one from you. :)
fun to escape-especially for cooler weather!
those quilts seem SO massive! thats some serious dedication there!
ohhhh bake sales..arent they so good!
oh those are beautiful!
my mom is a quilter. she does it all by hand.. I am always impressed with her eye for color and design. She makes one for each of her grandkids when they are born, she started after the oldest was born.. (my emmalee) so she kinda missed the boat on that one!
This would have been fun! My mom would just dig something like this. She has tried to teach me how to quilt, but I don't have the patience - - I love to look and admire though.
I can't wait to see your quilt someday...
Lucky you enjoying the cabin! Can't wait for lunch this week!!
those are lovely! so fun, and quilting is so impressive . but time consuming! get started and maybe you'll have it done in time to give to Sarah for her wedding someday! that would be a family heirloom for sure! my aunt did that for daughters weddings. makes me wish my mom did!
and mmmmmm nothing better than a bake sale!
I wish I had talent to make one of those gorgeous quilts..
Have a fun weekend!
I LOVE quilts. Sad to admit, I've been working on one for ages now. So glad you all had a great time. ;)
I LOVE quilts ... however I am sticking to the rag quilts. LOL Those are the only ones I can do. I think you should go for it Michelle! Take a class at a craft store and learn how to do it! You have such a eye for beautiful things, that it will surely be a gorgeous quilt!
Gorgeous quilts!! There is a show coming here in a few weeks I would love to attend.
