Ikea...finally!

Now that school has started I have a little more free time. Not a lot, but a little. :) Nate doesn't go back to college until Monday. Ben, and Dessie are still living here. They officially move out Saturday. :( I am really going to miss them. Anyhow, I have a few free hours during the day to myself. I have never been to Ikea! I know...crazy, huh? For some reason I just have never ventured over there. I am going to go check it out this week or next. I am hoping to find some things to help organize my craft room a little better. The one other item I have heard about, and never have tried is the meatballs, that they sell. Our home teacher tells us, that they are the best! How many of you are Ikea fans? What treasures have you found? I will let you all know what I find on my shopping trip!

I'll admit that I am an IKEA fan. :) I love their little plastic cups, plates and silverware for my nieces...I love their meatballs :D...I love their chocolate...I got a fun little kid toy there that is one of those wire things with big beads that you can move. My nieces LOVE it!

Have fun! Make sure you wear your walking shoes and give yourself plenty of time!

I used to be an avid fan but the novolty wore off. It's got it's own modern style with bright colors and simple lines. It feels a little college dorm like to me, the furniture that is! I do love walking through it! the set up rooms up stairs are great to look at for set up ideas and I love the market place , all the kitchen stuff and organization things.

Make sure to check the as is section. they used to have great discounts but it's hit and miss. The food is pretty good. You can order the kids meatball meal nad have I think 5 meatballs, french fries and mac and cheese for only 99 cents!!

Have fun!!!!

You can bag big bags of meatballs and put them in your freezer. They are yummy. I love it there. We stock up whenever we go to the mainland.

IKEA and meatballs?? Interesting combination. I have never heard of that. We haven't been to IKEA in years. We used to go to the one in Houston on our way back to New Orleans.

I am with Janae did you find any goods?

i am needing a trip to ikea myself.
i never loved a lot of the furniture but this years catalog really had some cute stuff that could totally be shabby chic as opposed to really modern. so i like that option now. they have way fun kitchen stuff too. dishes and pts and pans. gadgets too. i love the office supplies section and they have really cheap art supplies and unfinished frames to do fun things with. plan an at least 3 hours you get on that track and have to keep going. which sometimes kills me. Hope you have a great time! need a buddy to go with? i was wanting to go sometime. but I'd have a kid or two! not so fun! i like the cinnamon rolls too,and the chocolate by the registers is yummy! hope you have tons of fun!

No IKEA here in the midwest ... I'm totally missing out(not really b/c I'm not into the strict lines type of look). I would like the cheaper organization stuff though!

Have a great time!

I {heart} IKEA! Love that place. You will find so many cool things. I especially love their sqaure glass vases (I have a stock on hand for entertaining purposes...like putting salad dressing in them, etc.), and I love their glass jars, big and small, for storing creative elements at my desk.
I love their picture frames. I love their canvas pictures. I love their wood patio sets. I love their CD organizing boxes. I love their small lamps and lamp shades. I love their hanging metal and wrought iron systems. I love their bookcases. I love their baskets. I love their curtains. I love their pillows....okay, all these things I listed I have in my home from IKEA! :)
Happy shopping!

Another Ikea fan here!! Our closest one is Burbank, but I've been to the one in Mesa when visiting my parents. We have a coffee table, chair, cube bookcase and lots of organizing stuff from there. I love the affordablity of it! We're priced out of a lot of the "nicer" furniture stores. Have fun and let us know what you pick up!

I'm jealous of your IKEA trip. Please do post your finds! I've been meaning to e-mail you as well. I was at a scrapbook store the other day & bought some great different black & white patterns for our little project. Are you still up for it?!

I love IKEA! Most of my kids furniture is from there. Some of their stuff is too modern for me, but you will love all of the knick naks. So fun. YOu have to try the meatballs. So good. YOu can eat in their cafeteria also. You get meatballs, potatoes and a veggie for like 3 bucks, so cheap. Also buy some to take home. Wow! I think I sound like the spokes person for IKEA

Ikea's good for organization stuff and little cool things, but the furniture and other stuff is too contemporary for me - and it's like miniature size! I'll be going there sometime in the next month though to get a cubby bookshelf for the girls' completed room. The little kid plates and silverware are great - everyone I know with littles has them. Fun to walk around too. Have fun!

One of their best buys is batteries.
10 AA alkaline batteries for about $2. Or 2 D-cell for about 2.50. Get more whenever you are there so you don't have to make a special trip later.

Ikea is a wonderful place! They have tons of neat stuff for organizing and great ideas in their decorated spaces. The kids stuff is terrific and their market area is full of wonderful finds! And their meatballs are pretty nifty!
