Friday!

YEA! It is finally Friday! This has been one crazy week. We have had so much stuff going on here. I think that Steve is starting to feel a tiny bit better. He is on his second day of antibiotics. I am hoping that he can take it easy this weekend for the most part. Today I have been in one of those moods where I just want to be at home. I did go to the store this morning, and run a few errands this afternoon, but that was about it. I have been cooking a roast in the crock pot all day. We are going to have roast, carrots, rolls, and fruit salad. I feel like I have been just throwing meals together all week. We have had something going on every night this week. It is so nice to have a night off. It seems like the spring time is always like this. Between now, and when the kids get out of school we are on the go. I am looking forward to summer! Even knowing I don't handle the heat to well, I love summer! I love the time with the kids. I enjoy the fact that everyone can sleep in if they want, or stay up late if they want. Do any of you find this time of year to be be more busy than usual? Well, I am off to get dinner on the table. I hope everyone is having a great night!

What a nice dinner! We had that last Sunday. Growing up, mom never cooked real food on Friday or Saturday. We had fun kid food, like homemade pizza or chicken pot pie, or hot dogs (gasp!not often).
I like this tradition. Mom knocked herself out 5 days a week with cooking balanced meals for 7 kids.
I wish I was better, but I do the same -I save the nice dinners for other nights. We fed the missionaries tonight -last minute -papa johns pizza. Then our friends stopped by -fed the 7 of them too.
So pizza night goes a long way;)

I like the kids home in summer too.
happy friday! -J

I try to cook at least 3 really good meals during the week. (Ok so I am not Martha Stewart) Between now and when the kids get out of school we are so busy as well. Life is so busy. I am also looking forward to the summer. I love being able to be with the kids. Go swimming, boating and just having fun. I hope you and Steve will be coming up here to Washington this summer. Get out of the hot weather for a few days. Your dinner sounds yummy.

I think that this time of year feels more busy too. My son is doing baseball (which have a lot of game) then swimming registeration is already in a few weeks, school is coming to a close which means teacher gifts, etc. I know what you mean. I kinda am ready for a break for the summer too. Glad Steve is on the mends.

How do you cook your roast in the crock pot? What do you add to it etc.?
I just bought a roast and sometimes it just doesn't turn out good? I know, how can you mess up a crock pot roast??

My kids stay up WAY too late! I haven't been the best at making them go to bed early even though I wish they would. Our school starts at 9:00am so they don't get up until 8:15. (it's so nice)!
