sewing...
My goal for the summer is for my family, and I to stretch, and grow. We have a little more free time now than we did during school. We all love learning new things. The one thing that was at the top of my list, was sewing! I did take sewing in Home Ec. in Junior High School, but it didn't stick to well. :) Sarah has been wanting to learn to sew also. I was thrilled when my friend Cheryl, offered to come over, and help Sarah, and I get going. Cheryl was soooo patient! I didn't even know how to thread the machine properly! I sewed a pillow case to start with. I am so proud of that thing! We are going to move on to skirts next time. We have also been working on yo yo's for headbands. I don't have any pictures of those, but will post them when I do. If any of you have any ideas for sewing projects for beginners, I would love to hear about them. :) Have a wonderful Sabbath!

Good for you - I don't know how to thread my machine either. James bought me a brand new one years ago and I've never used it! I loan it out though, lol... I, too, would be so proud of that pillowcase.
YOU go girl. Emily does all the sewing in our family! :) I need to learn how !
AWESOME! Way to go on being so productive. I can't WAIT to see the yo-yo's and the skirts!
Good for you! I grew up sewing everything from Barbie clothes to my prom dresses. I should have a girl to pass that on to, and to make cute dresses for. How did I end up with two boys? Now I only sew a rare window treatment or an occasional apron. I should start doing more!
Woohoo! Good for you! You should try those bags that I make. The pattern was really simple and it's something fun that you can use! I think it's simplicity 5151. McCall's patterns will be on sale at JoAnn's next weekend for $1.99 each too.
That's terrific!! I want my daughter to learn more but every time I drag out the machine the other creatures want to play with it too! Bags are super cool to make are are easy.
Surprisingly - easy quilts are VERY easy to make - just sew straight lines!!! Have fun!
Good luck with that Michelle. I love sewing too. It is sew relaxing if you have the time to do it. I can't wait to see the finished products. Happy summer.
oh you will love it!!!Sewing is one of my favorite creative outlets!I'll be sure to send you easy sewing projects when I come across any!!! good luck!
I am so proud of you! I will help you sew anytime. We need to craft together!

I am so happy that Cheryl taught us how to sew! (: It will be a fun summer project.
So awesome! Try a rag quilt next. I'm not a sewer, but that was super easy!
I have basic sewing skills, but would love to learn more.
How is your ankle doing? I am still in my silly boot.
come teach me to sew a skirt when you learn! or i will come over for your lesson! I love to sew, I just cant do it very well!
Oh my word! How fun! I'm so impressed with what you have made- those pillowcases with flowers and the necklaces and headbands are so dang cute. You will have to post online tutorials for the rest of us to learn- ha ha! So great that you took the time to learn how to do that- amazing job!
