Saturday...
I love the feeling in the air. Spring has sprung, and it feels so good! This afternoon Sarah, and I took some time out, and sat out by the pool. It felt so good to sit outside, read my magazine, and get some sun! Steve decided to make us some yummy lemonade. He added a few oranges to it, and it was delightful! Steve, and Ben got back in town late last night. They took a short trip to the dunes in California. Nate left yesterday for Laguna, and San Diego. He is spending spring break there. It feels really different having him on a vacation with friends, and not the family. Sometimes it is hard to let him grow up. I sure love that boy! Jake woke up this morning to a horrible sore throat. He rarely complains about aches, and pains. We headed to the Urgent Care. We actually were the first to get there for the morning. We were the first to be seen. I had in the back of my mind that Jake may have strep throat. His throat was very red, swollen, and had white spots on it. The strep culture came back negative. The Dr. then ran a blood test for Mono. In my mind I thought what is this Dr. thinking? Believe it or not, the test came back positive! Soooo, Jake is now on Steroids for the week, and pain medication. Poor boy! I am going to open every window in this house, and Lysol this place. We have had more illness this past year than any other I can remember. Hopefully this is the end of the illnesses. Well, this post was going to be just a little post about today's activities. I guess more has gone on around here than I realized. :) I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! :)

Oh so sorry... when my Annelise had mono, she slept for 6 weeks. She has now been told that she has Epstein Barr... poor kid.
Hey, do you mind if I put you in my blog roll? Trying to put together a list of women bloggers who have older
children living at home.
Get well soon Jake!
Your pic looks so relaxing with the pitcher of lemonade, floral arrangement and the sunny outdoors...so refreshing!

Oh yes, spring has sprung and I'm lovin' it! Just took our patio lounge chairs and umbrella out of storage today!!
It is very strange when our college kids are not with us for vacations anymore. My ASU little sis is down in Orange County also. We are originally from OC so she and 2 friends are visiting my family during spring break. Strange for her to be there without me!
So sorry to hear about your Jake. My sister had mono and I just remember her sleeping for about 4-6 weeks straight.
Michelle, hope you and your family start feeling better soon! Take care.
Oh no. Not another case. I am sorry to hear that Michelle. I didn't realize Mono was contagious or is it?
Glad you got some nice time by the pool. That sounds heavenly :)

Michelle, that photo gives me so much hope! Those flowers look so great. With all our snow here, I'm certain there will never been flowers! So sorry about Jake, I hope that he gets better quickly. So glad that you are feeling better - it's no fun being sick. We are back from our vacation and it was so great to visit your blog again! take care my friend!
Mono!!!Ugg!!! holy sickness. As I was reading your post and sitting in my roabe not feeling well myself it totally hit me!!! Heaven;y Father is so getting us all ready for the Bird Flu!!!They say those who have super strong immune systems will be the first to die! Those of us who are sick often will be able to make it! Crazy huh!Stronger immune systems will fight it off too well and go over board actually killing ourselves!
So great! Me and my girls will make it but my poor healthy hubby will not! Ugg! So really there is no silver lining here!
Hope he feels better soon...and how cute is Steve bringing you lemonade with orange slices!
How sad! Mono is not fun at all. I hope Jake is getting some good rest.
I can't even imagine lounging by a pool! It is soo warm here, a balmy 55 degrees and I am loving it!
Yikes...I can't believe Jake has mono. I hope it ends soon! Spring is no time for such a thing..we have to enjoy the weather before it heats up. I'm nursing some strep & bronchitis over here so I guess I shouldn't be talking!
