Women's Conference 2007

My Sis in law Wendy and I.

I wanted to post a few of my thoughts about Women's Conference. I attended Fridays session of Women's Conference. I arrived in Salt Lake Weds. afternoon. I spent Weds. evening, and part of Thursday in Salt Lake visiting with my Mother in law, Father in law, and sister in law. It was good to be able to spend time with them.

There where so many wonderful things about Women's Conference. I think the one thing that always touches my heart the most, is looking around and seeing so many sweet sisters of the gospel, in one place at one time. I get so touched to think that we are all there to listen to the sweet words that are shared in the gospel. I loved President, and sister Hollands talk they gave at the closing of conference. The question was asked...What time is this? It is a time to be grateful. We where counseled to never underestimate our devine role. We are the every day instruments that God has always used in his every day use. Life, love, energy, holiness, intelligence, and great strength. We are all of these things. We also where given a beautiful blessing by Brother Holland. What a wonderful Man of God. I feel blessed to have heard the words that where spoken on Friday.

I am home now, and in full swing of the role of "Mom." I have much laundry to do, grocery shopping, cleaning etc. I sit here this morning, and think to myself...How blessed I am. There is nothing more that I would rather be doing today than serving my family.

It's always difficult for me to get into the swing of every day life after the high of a good break...especially one so inspiring. Glad to see you back!

What beautiful thoughts! I agree...we have so much to be grateful for. I used to think I was too busy, but then I realized, too busy for what? I am not trying to "get through" raising my kids, cleaning the house, blah, blah, blah! Embrace the BUSY because I am doing exactly what I'm supposed to do, and what I WANT to do! I am bummed to have missed that talk! Bri had a job interview...so I was with the kids. My mother-in-law was there, and was very impressed! I'll be looking for it on BYU TV! :)

I love what you wrote. I enjoyed all of those talks, especially Elder Holland and Sister Hollands talk. It was incredible. I feel the same way that you do when I look around and see thousands of other sisters in the gospel all together. It's powerful! I'm glad that you had a great time.

hi michelle: welcome home. glad you had a meaningful time at womens conference. i love how you quoted, "it is time to be grateful ... " it's all good. very neat to be able to be in a room with all these sisters in the Gospel. we ARE so lucky and blessed.

this week marked my two year anniversary since i was converted to our church. very grateful. and good news also, (in my 04may post) my mom was able to aquire three of the addresses i needed to send the youth leaders from my childhood that thank you letter (my conversion story). you reaction to it was sweet. i mailed the six leaders the thank you letters. it felt great to be able to thank them :)
