It has been a busy few days since I last posted. I made it back to Arizona yesterday afternoon from Women's Conference. Conference was wonderful, and it was amazing to be surrounded by such wonderful people. I am going to post more about it later. Yesterday was Prom for Jacob. It also was Ben's celebration of his 21st birthday...3 days early. We had one busy night. Jacob looked SOOOO handsome in his Tuxedo. The blue in his vest brought out the beautiful blue in his eyes. His date Jordin looked so pretty. What a handsome looking prom couple they made! The prom was at a reception center that some people in our ward own, called Stonbridge Manner. It is such a pretty place, and perfect for Prom.

Ben will be leaving this afternoon for Correctional Officer training in Tucson for the next 9 weeks. He will be home for the weekends. I am feeling very sad. I am trying to adjust to the thought of him being a Correction Officer. This brings me worry. I also know I will miss him! Ben is interested in going into Criminal Justice. He will get quite a few college credits attending the academy. Also he will have a jump start in the system. I just can't see him working in a prison. I support his descisions even though, this is a hard thing for me. I have always wanted my children to make their choices, and learn from them. I keep finding myself wanting to cry. I think once he is on the road I wil have a good cry.

I hope that everyone is having a good weekend. I am off to catch up on blogs.

Wow, you are one busy woman! We really should have made plans to meet up at Woman's conference. I only went the first day, and was feeling pretty yucky and exhausted (I had been "teaching" Kate to sleep through the night the two nights prior, so I was sleep deprived). You wouldn't have seen me at my best (ha). What an adorable couple! So cute! And to celebrate a 21st birthday of a child! That's awesome, but I feel for you...having him go into the field he's chosen. Makes me wonder about my own boys and what direction they will choose to go! Hugs to you...sometimes getting a really good hard cry out is all you need! :)

That's so cool that you went to WC! Dessie kind of looks like Phil's wife on AI. I kept looking at her picture and thinking, where have I seen her before. HAHA! And Jacob does look stylin!

Have a great week!

okay girl, so may I ask why Ben wants to work in the prison? Is it a means to a end for being a police officer? If you have any questions about being a CO, my Husband was one. WAS is the word there. So you can email me if you want. I tend to think I know a bit about it. ohana02@gmail.com

I am so glad you had fun at Women's Conference.

OK, I had to laugh at your sweet dog sitting in the picture. :) she's so darling and must've insisted on being in on the action!! I can totally understand the need to cry about his choice of job. I would be crying too! Hopefully though, what he chooses to do will lead to OTHER jobs related too! :) Have a great week! I'll catch up this weekend!

Jacob was looking quite dapper. Cute couple. That brings me back to my highschool prom--good times.

That is sad about Ben leaving, but good thing Tucson is only a few hours south. Hang in there!

Man I hardly know what to write because I could write a novel on this post. Milo has been a corrections officer for the last 8 years. I did not like his choice of job when we married yet it gave us an income and insurance. The best part was that within 18 months of him working that job, he knew he didn't want to work this his whole life with a family. He has stayed there for the past 6 years while going to school (both full time) and graduates in June. It isn't all bad but I know the exact fears you describe. Hang in there, I'll be thinking of you! (sorry about the novel!)
